The blackout fabric itself blocks light, but some daylight may still enter around the edges of the window or between two curtain panels. For the best possible blackout effect, we recommend choosing generous curtain widths and ensuring the curtains extend beyond the window on all sides.

Our woven linen, bouclé and velvet curtains can be ordered with a blackout lining sewn onto the back of the curtain. This allows you to choose the material and colour you love while still having a curtain that blocks out light when closed. It’s ideal if you want to use the same material across several rooms but need blackout curtains in the bedroom, or if you want to combine a decorative look with blackout functionality.

Blackout lining is a great choice for bedrooms, children’s rooms and guest rooms.

A separate blackout lining is sewn onto the back of the curtain. From inside the room you enjoy the chosen fabric, while the reverse side consists of the blackout lining. This is the ideal option if your priority is choosing a specific fabric, texture or colour.

Core Collection

In our Core Collection, the blackout fibres are woven directly into the fabric itself. This means no separate lining is required, and the curtain has the same appearance and colour on both sides.
