Available Curtains in Sheer Linen
All curtains are sewn by hand in Sweden. Quality is important to us; that is why we include side seams and a bottom hem in the curtains for a heavier look. The bottom hem is sewn with a measurement of 10x10 cm, which makes it possible for you to make the curtain longer at a later time. For example, if you move to a new home with a higher ceiling height.
- The sheer linen curtain is sewn with two pockets where you can place curtain weights at the bottom (one on each side). The weights help control the curtain's drape for a perfect look.
- The sheer linen curtain features see-through pleating tape for a soft look with curtain hooks. The pleating tape can be used to hang the curtain on a track or rod. Additionally, there is a passage at the top of the curtain for pulling the rod through.

Material
Our sheer linen curtains are of the highest quality, crafted from 100% linen sourced from France. The yarn on the loom spools is used to weave the fabric and is thinner in some parts and thicker in others. This gives the linen fabric an organic character. The fabric is certified according to OEKO-TEX. All Gotain fabrics are woven in Spain and Turkey. Due to the characteristics of linen, our linen curtains may sometimes vary slightly in shade and texture between rolls.
Care
To maintain color and quality, we recommend vacuuming your curtains regularly. Use a soft nozzle and gently run it along the fabric to remove dust and dirt that may otherwise penetrate the textile. Additionally, use a steamer to minimize creases that may develop over time.
- In the event of dirt or staining, we always recommend spot treatment. Clean with hot water on a white cloth—gently dab the fabric and finish with steaming—then allow to dry.
- For more substantial staining or dirt, we advise consulting a dry cleaner. Always ensure that your local dry cleaner has the appropriate expertise and tools to manage your stain. Gotain does not take responsibility for incorrect handling by a dry cleaner.

VIDEO GUIDE
1. HOW TO MEASURE LENGTH
Ceiling-mounted curtain track - Measure from the ceiling to the floor and add +1 cm.
Curtain track on wall - Measure from the top of the curtain track down to the floor add add +1 cm.
Curtain rod on wall - Measure from the underside of the ring hanging on the rod and add +1cm.
Notes for linen curtains: Linen is a natural material and may change slightly over time. Woven linen curtains (including blackout) have a tendency to stretch a little once hung. For these, we recommend not adding the extra centimetre and instead measuring to the desired final length. Sheer linen curtains are more affected by humidity and seasonal changes, and can be planned with approximately +1 cm for a soft, elegant drape. If you’re unsure which option is best for your home, our curtain experts are always happy to offer personal advice.
2. HOW TO MEASURE WIDTH
Double width curtain - Extended: 180cm wide, gathered: 70cm wide.
Single width curtain - Extended: 90cm wide, gathered: 35cm wide.
The above recommendation is to achieve Gotain's signature look, which means generous flowing waves of fabric, and a small trail against the floor. The measurements apply to the most common hanging style, on a curtain track with two-finger hooks. Read more in Gotain's measuring guide.
Woven from 100% linen, the Sheer Linen Curtain features a loosely woven structure that allows daylight to flow through while softening direct sunlight. The natural fibres create a subtle texture, with slight variations in thickness that give the fabric an organic, tactile character. This lightweight curtain provides gentle light-filtering, keeping rooms bright and airy without sacrificing privacy.
In home interiors, the curtain’s soft drape works well in living rooms, bedrooms, kitchens, and bathrooms. The sheer linen diffuses light across the space, reducing glare and creating a calm atmosphere throughout the day. For bedrooms, it can be paired with a blackout curtain to increase privacy and light control, while in communal areas it stands alone to maintain openness and a sense of flow.
Each curtain panel is tailor-made for your home in Gotain’s Swedish atelier, with precise side seams and a generous bottom hem for a balanced fall. The see-through pleating tape supports both track and rod installation, and integrated pockets allow for curtain weights to be added at the base for improved drape. The linen’s natural shade variations and visible weave are highlighted in every detail, reflecting careful craftsmanship and attention to material.
The linen fabric softens over time and is built for regular use. To maintain colour and quality, vacuum gently with a soft nozzle and use a steamer to refresh the fibres. Spot cleaning is recommended for minor marks, while dry cleaning is advised for heavier stains. The Sheer Linen Curtain is designed to be layered with blackout panels for a hotel-inspired look or used alone for a light, understated finish in any room.
