How do I choose the width of my curtains?

A curtain in singe width drapes at least 35cm, and at the most 90cm. A curtain in double width drapes at least 70cm, and at the most 180cm.

Do I need any accessories for my curtains?

The curtains are sold piecewise and without accessories. But we have everything you need for a complete suspension, and you can find our assortment of curtain hooks and rails here.

How do I order curtain rails?

Accepted Answer

Only your imagination sets the limits on how long or short your rail can be! By means of the Gotain complete curtain rail-kits with lengths of 150cm or 200cm you can shorten and joint to get your perfect length.

How do I black out with curtains?

Think high and wide - the more fabric around your window, the better the black out effect.

Use curtains in two layers - one sheer and one heavier. Choose a ceiling mounted curtain rail for a spaceous feeling, and place the rails with a 7-10cm distance inbetween.

Choose low curtain hooks if you plan to hang your curtains on a rail, and high hooks for a rod. You will need around 15-20 low hooks to hang a single width curtain on a rail.

How long is the delivery time?

Estimated delivery time is usually 3 weeks from approved order.

Did you include a service with installment and mounting in connection to your order of curtains? Then the estimated total delivery time is around 5-6 weeks. This is in order for us to also schedule a day & time that suits both You and our fitters for the installation.

How will my curtains be delivered?

All curtains will be delivererd to your closest service point.

How will my curtain rails/rods be delivered?

Accepted Answer

Curtain rails up to a length of 150cm will be sent to your closest DHL/UPS service point.

Rails up to a length of 200cm will be sent with home-delivery with DHL/UPS (Prioritaire home-delivery for all customers within Stockholm city centre).

What happens if I can't be there to receive my home-delivery of curtain rails/rods?

Accepted Answer

UPS/DHL will do three attempts to deliver the parcel before it will be returned to Gotain. You can follow your delivery with the tracking information you have been provided with upon dispatch, and it is up to the customer to have the dialogue with the delivery company if you don't have the possibility to be home in time to receive the parcel.

When a delivery is returned to Gotain we will charge 400kr in order to send the parcel again, due to the bulky sizing.

You are also more than welcome to come by our showroom to pick up your parcel, free of charge!

Question 16

My parcel has been sent in return. What do I do?

Accepted Answer

If you have not picked up your pacel in time, it will be returned to the Gotain showroom on Tegnérgatan 14 in Stockholm. Goods that come in return to us due to it not being picked up by the customer in time, we charge a fee of 200kr. This is to cover the costs for a double shipping, packing and administration.

We can send your parcel anew for a charge of 99kr, or you are more than welcome to pick it up in our showroom, free of charge!

Question 17

Do you deliver to Norway? How does VAT work?

We are more than happy to deliver to customers in Norway! In that case you will pay Norwegian VAT, calculated at checkout, and no import fees will be added when your parcel arrives. Easy!

Can I return custom made curtains?

Accepted Answer

No - all curtains are sewn made to measure your exact measurements, which means we can not take any products in return.

Question 19

Can I return accessories?

Accepted Answer

You have a 14-day right to return all accessories. The packaging has to be intact and unbroken. To get a return note, email order@gotain.com. The money will be returned to the same account that the payment was made from, excluding the price for the booked return shipment.

Question 20

What qualifies for reclamations?

Accepted Answer

All Gotain curtains undergo a thorough quality control in multiple steps before being packed and shipped. If your order was defect or faulty upon receiving it, we kindly ask you to start a reclamation case as soon as the defect has been observed. Describe the defect as detailed as possible and enclose pictures of the damage, this in order for us to be able to assess your case as correctly as possible.

If your reclamation case been approved, we will send your a return note which has to be used within 30 days - thereafter the reclamation case will expire.

If your reclamation case of a curtain/s has not been approved, you will be charged a fee of 299kr/curtain for us to send it anew to you.

Normal usage and products purchased over 2 years prior do not qualify for reclamation.

Please note that all reclamation cases are to be handled over email. This because of our need for tracability in the dialogue, and therefore we abstain all reclamations over phone or chat.

Question 21

My curtains are too long! Can I make a complaint about my order?

Accepted Answer

If you have measured by yourself and the length deviates more than 1% we will more than happily control and measure these for you. The curtains will then be sent to our studio in Sweden where we will assure the measurement of the curtains based on the order material.

The weave of the textile affects the weight of the fabric, length and how the hang, a deviation of less than 1% of the total length is not regarded as a reclamation case. If the deviation is less than 1% of the total length of the curtain, we will charge a service fee of 299kr/curtain to ship it back to you.

If the curtain has a deviation over 1% of the ordered length of the curtain, we will of course correct this for you free of charge and send it back to you as soon as possible!
