Material
Our velvet curtains are of the highest quality, made of a polyester velvet specially made to fall beautifully and not attract dust.
For the blackout velvet curtain curtain, a blackout lining is sewn to the back. There is a wide range of feeds when it comes to blackout, which in industry terms ranges from dim-out to black-out. At Gotain, we use black-out, which is the lining that accounts for the absolute highest degree of blackout. As always when it comes to blackout - remember to hang the curtains high and wide for the absolute best look.
The fabric is certified according to OEKO-TEX. All Gotain fabrics are woven in Spain and Turkey.
Care - Custom made Blackout Velvet Curtain
To maintain color and quality, we recommend vacuuming your curtains regularly. Use a soft nozzle and pull gently along the fabric to remove dust and dirt that would otherwise press into the fabric over time. Use a steamer to minimize wrinkles. When steaming velvet curtains, it is important that you steam from the back of the curtain so as not to damage its fringe.
- To get such an effective blackout, we sew the blackout lining to the seams of the woven linen curtain. As these two textiles are of completely different materials and character, there is a risk of destroying the entire curtain by washing it in its entirety.
- In the case of dirt/stains, we always recommend treating the stain immediately. Clean with warm water on a white cloth - dab gently against the fabric and finish by steaming - let dry.
