Classic curtain valance in Cottage Collection, choose between a straight or curved finish. The curved finish creates a framed look for your curtain setup and covers the sides. The straight finish leaves the sides open, ideal if you want to use the valance across the full width of the wall. The valance is handmade in Spanish linen to your exact measurements in our atelier in Sweden. A complete mounting kit is included, designed for ceiling installation.

Curtain Valance – Classic
All curtains are handmade in Sweden. The valance has a velcro strip at the top, which attaches directly to the curtain track for a minimal and discreet look. Get inspiration, here!
- The valance comes with a complete kit, including a track with velcro and ceiling brackets for easy ceiling mounting. If you plan to mount your valance on the wall, you will need to purchase additional wall brackets.
- Valance with straight finish: The curtain track is delivered in one single piece for lengths up to 200 cm. For lengths exceeding 200 cm, a joint piece is included to extend the track to the ordered length. Valances up to 280 cm in width are made in one single piece. For widths exceeding 280 cm, the valance is made with a 280 cm center panel, with the remaining width divided and added to each side.
- Want to hang a curtain behind your valance? Order a regular curtain track to be mounted behind the valance.
- Since all valances are handmade, the final width/length of the curtain may vary by +/- 1 cm from the ordered measurement.

The recommended height for a curtain valance is approximately 13.8 inches (35 cm), which creates a balanced and stylish impression in most windows. If you need more coverage or want a more decorative feel, you can choose a taller model – we offer curtain valances up to 23.6 inches (60 cm) in height.
Our woven linen is made from the highest quality, 67% linen and 33% viscose for a heavy drape. The fabric is certified according to OEKO-TEX. All Gotain fabrics are woven in Spain and Turkey.
Care
To maintain color and quality, we recommend vacuuming your curtains regularly. Use a soft nozzle and pull gently along the fabric to remove dust and dirt that would otherwise press into the fabric over time. Use a steamer to minimize wrinkles.
- In the case of dirt/stains, we always recommend treating the stain immediately. Clean with warm water on a white cloth - dab gently against the fabric and finish by steaming - let dry.
The Valance – Cottage Collection Straight Finish is crafted from a blend of 67% linen and 33% viscose, creating a fabric with a soft, natural texture and relaxed drape. The lightly open weave allows daylight to filter through, gently softening incoming light while maintaining a bright and airy feel. Available in striped and floral designs, each valance introduces subtle color variation and pattern, with tones ranging from blue and green to warm yellow and red.
Designed to frame windows in kitchens, bedrooms, and living areas, this window valance adds a clean, tailored finish above curtain panels or drapery. The straight edge creates a structured, architectural line, while the semi-sheer fabric helps preserve a sense of openness. It can also be styled as a bed canopy or used to enhance bay windows and alcoves, adding a decorative layer without overwhelming the space.
Each valance is custom-made to your exact measurements in Gotain’s Swedish atelier, ensuring a precise fit and refined appearance. It features a discreet Velcro attachment for easy installation on the included curtain track. The kit comes complete with ceiling brackets for straightforward mounting, while additional wall brackets are available separately if needed. For wider installations over 79 inches (200 cm), the valance is constructed with a central panel and side sections to maintain a seamless look across the full width.
The linen blend is selected for its durability and everyday functionality, softening naturally over time while retaining its structure. To maintain its appearance, vacuum gently with a soft brush attachment and use light steaming to keep the drape smooth. Spot clean with warm water for minor stains as needed.
