Quality is incredibly important to us, which is why we sew our Roman blinds with evenly distributed metal rods along their length. This ensures that the blind forms smooth, even folds when raised or lowered.
- Each Roman blind comes with a complete kit for easy installation. The blackout version is equipped with a cassette, providing a more stable and durable mounting system compared to our unlined Roman blinds, designed to support the weight of the fabric. Roman blinds with a cassette are operated with a chrome ball chain.
- Can be mounted on both walls and ceilings.
- As all Roman blinds are handmade, the final width/length may vary by +/- 1-2 cm from the ordered dimensions.
- When the roman blind is fully raised, it takes up approximately 25–30 cm. If you want it to cover a smaller portion of your window, we recommend mounting it above the window frame.

Material
Our woven linen is of the highest quality, made from 67% linen and 33% viscose for a soft and flowing drape. Due to the natural characteristics of linen, slight variations in shade and texture may occur between fabric rolls.
The blackout lining is OEKO-TEX certified.
Care Instructions
For our blackout Roman blinds, a blackout lining is sewn onto the back of the fabric. There is a wide range of linings available for light blocking, categorized in industry terms from dim-out to black-out. At Gotain, we use black-out lining, which provides the highest level of light blockage.
- To maintain color and quality, we recommend vacuuming your blinds regularly. Use a soft brush attachment and gently run it along the fabric to remove dust and dirt that may otherwise penetrate the material. A steamer can be used to minimize creases that form over time.
- To ensure maximum blackout efficiency, the blackout lining is sewn into the seams of the Roman blind. As these two textiles are made of completely different materials and textures, washing the entire blind could risk damaging the product.
- For stains or dirt, we always recommend spot cleaning. Use warm water and a white cloth—dab gently onto the fabric and finish with a steamer. Allow the fabric to air dry.
Maximize the impact of your window by installing your roman blind 15 cm above the window and covering the full width, including the window trim.
When the roman blind is fully raised, the length is approx. 30 cm.

The Blackout Roman Blind Woven Linen Cottage Collection is made from a blend of 67% linen and 33% viscose, offering a substantial fabric with a soft, textured surface. The blackout lining on the reverse provides effective room-darkening, blocking incoming light for privacy and restful sleep. The thicker weave and blackout backing give the blind a structured fall, while the collection’s signature stripes and floral motifs remain visible on the front, adding character to the window.
This custom made blackout roman blind is well suited to bedrooms, guest rooms, or any space where light control and privacy are needed. The lined fabric helps reduce glare and insulate against outside noise, while the decorative patterns bring a sense of warmth to both classic and contemporary interiors. The blind can be adjusted to let in daylight as desired, or fully lowered for a darkened environment, making it a practical choice for day-to-night use.
Each blind is handcrafted with horizontal battens for smooth, even folds and is mounted on a cassette for added stability. The blind is supplied with a complete installation kit for wall or ceiling mounting, and is tailored to your exact measurements in our Swedish atelier. The blackout lining is OEKO-TEX certified, ensuring both comfort and peace of mind.
The linen blend is chosen for its durability and ability to soften with time. Regular vacuuming with a soft nozzle and steaming will help maintain the fabric’s appearance. Spot cleaning is recommended for minor marks, with dry cleaning for more persistent stains. This blackout roman blind combines high quality woven linen with effective light control, offering a tailored solution for privacy and comfort in your home.
