Which curtains are best for a home office?

The best choice depends on how you use the space. Sheer curtains or made-to-measure Roman blinds are popular options as they filter natural light and reduce screen glare without making the room feel dark.

Should you choose curtain panels or Roman blinds for a home office?

Both curtain panels and Roman blinds work well. Roman blinds are ideal if you want to save space and easily adjust the amount of natural light, while curtain panels create a softer, more inviting look.

Which curtains let in light while providing privacy?

Sheer linen curtains are an excellent choice if you want to maximise natural light while reducing visibility from outside. For greater privacy, choose woven linen curtains or bouclé curtains.

Can curtains improve the acoustics in a home office?

Yes. Curtains absorb some of the sound within a room and can help reduce echo, especially in home offices with many hard surfaces such as windows, desks and wooden or tiled floors.

What colour curtains are best for a home office?

The colour of your curtains can influence how your workspace feels throughout the day. Blue tones are often associated with calmness and focus, making them a popular choice for home offices. Beige, sand and other light neutral shades create a balanced look and reflect natural light, while green tones bring a calming, natural feel. Choose a colour that complements your interior and creates the atmosphere you want to work in.

How to: Decorate your office with textiles

In the office you should feel focused and inspired at the same time, and to find the balance between these two, it's of relevance how you choose to decorate. Let the furnishing speak for itself, and the employees and external guests for what the brand is and represents.

DRAPING AND SOUND PROOFING

An office often means spaceaous rooms with many people, which is why textiles are key in more places than just around windows. Drape, sound proof and create a warm feeling by hanging custom made curtains along a whole wall - beautiful and effecient!

COLOR FOR THE MOOD

Don't forget to add color to the furnishing of your office. Color has a considerable effect on energy levels, and can hence increase positivity and commitment. Red is the color of energy that activates and enlivens, while yellow is more known for enhancing optimism and joy.

A FLEXIBLE ENVIRONMENT

By creating different seating areas with "islands", office furniture, sofa groups or a standing bar, you will be encouraged to change position and working station throughout the day. Inreased movement leads to increased productivity - so hop to it!

A COMMON GOAL

It's important that the whole team has a common feeling and understanding of the company projects and goals, and a bulletin board to gather inspiration and plans is a good and visual way to achieve this.

SCREENED OFF WITH LIGHT ADMISSION

It's common that conference rooms are completely surrounded by glass, or with generous glass sections. Keep in mind to choose a more sheer curtain, for example a Voile Hotel Curtain or Thin Linen Curtain, to screen off without loosing touch with the business going on outside the room.

NEUTRAL TONES FOR CALM

Unlike in an office environment, neutral tones are preferrable in a conference room. Here you want to create an inviting space where the dialogue, conversations and analysis get to be in focus, and not to be distracted by color. Another reason for choosing a neutral palette in a conference room is for the plain and simple reason that the people sitting in the room also add plenty of color, which can end up feeling a bit messy.

Curtains for the home office

A well-designed home office makes it easier to stay focused and enjoy your working day. With the right curtains, you can create a calmer workspace while controlling natural light and giving the room a softer look. If your desk is positioned near a window, sheer curtains or made-to-measure Roman blinds are an excellent choice. They filter daylight and reduce screen glare without making the room feel dark. Whether you're designing a dedicated home office or a workspace within your living room, made-to-measure curtains help you create a solution tailored to both your window and the way you use the space.
