Choosing between velvet and woven linen comes down to personal preference and the atmosphere you want to create.

Velvet brings depth and presence. The fabric has a natural weight and lustre, creating a more dressed, elevated look with structured pleats. It also has a dust-repellent quality, making it as practical as it is refined.

Woven linen offers a softer, more relaxed feel, with a subtle texture that adds depth without feeling heavy. The fabric falls naturally and lets the light move through the room in a gentle way. Consider how the room is used. In bedrooms, blackout lining can make a significant difference to sleep by effectively blocking out light. In living rooms or kitchens, many prefer curtains without blackout to maintain natural light and create a soft, airy feel.

A helpful approach is to combine both — a lighter curtain for daytime and a blackout option for the evening, when you want to create a more enclosed and restful atmosphere.

Dusty Pink curtains are incredibly versatile and easy to style. They sit beautifully with soft neutrals like ivory, blue, oat yellow, sand, and work just as well alongside sage green and terracotta.

Dusty pink is remarkably flexible in this way. Used as a subtle accent it adds warmth and softness without drawing too much attention, while as a more defined feature it gently frames the room and gives it a cohesive, considered feel. Either way, it never feels like too much.
