How to: Curtain valance
Explore curtain valances, designed to add a finishing touch and elevate the look of your space. Use a valance to conceal a curtain track, soften the top of a window, or frame elements like beds to create a canopy effect. Both decorative and practical - discover ourguide on how to style with valances.
But first - find your favorite:
1. Style: Classic or Scalloped?
2. Fabric: Woven linen, Cottage Collection or Bouclé?

3. Finish: Straight or Curved Finish?
The difference lies in the sides of the valance. The curved finish is the classic valance style, designed to frame the curtain installation and cover the sides. The straight finish leaves the sides open, making it ideal for wall-to-wall installations.
The valance is delivered as a complete kit, including a track with Velcro attachment and ceiling brackets for easy ceiling installation. If you prefer wall mounting, wall brackets can be purchased separately.

THE CURTAIN EXPERT’S TIP
Create a balanced look by matching your valance to the overall style of your space. A classic, straight finish gives a clean and tailored feel, while a scalloped or curved design adds softness and a more decorative touch. For a cohesive result, pair your valance with curtains in the same fabric – or let it stand out as a subtle accent above a window, doorway, or bed.
DECORATE WITH A CURTAIN VALANCE
A curtain valance helps create layers within an interior, making a room feel more inviting. It can be used to enhance the proportions of a space, visually elevate ceiling height, or create a softer transition between walls, windows, and textiles. At Gotain, we love how a valance can transform the atmosphere of a room depending on the fabric choice - from woven linen to cozier textures like bouclé.
COMBINE WITH ROMAN BLINDS AND CURTAIN PANELS
For an extra inviting feel, combine the valance with Roman blinds and curtain lengths. One of our favorite combinations is to match all elements in the same fabric and color to create a layered look. This combination works especially beautifully in bedrooms and children’s rooms, where you want to create a warm and cozy atmosphere.
