The Christmas Curtain Guide

Combining textiles

Combining Roman blinds with café curtains is a small detail that makes a big difference - perfect for creating the feeling of a private French bistro at home. Our café curtain on rings comes as a complete set with a decorative bronze rod for easy installation.

Give the gift of a Roman blind this Christmas - custom-made to the exact size of the window it will hang in. Shown here in Cottage Stripe Red, part of The Cottage Collection and just as fitting for the deep tones of the holiday season as for the bright days of summer.

For an extra festive feeling, add lush greenery and candlelight. Combine taper candles with multiple light sources; lighting is the key to creating a cozy, seasonal atmosphere.

Layering

Layering isn’t just about combining different curtain styles, but also about building layers throughout the room. One simple way is to let a piece of art hang in front of the curtain panel, a playful touch that adds depth and gives you the opportunity to display your favourite artwork in new places.

On the left is the woven linen curtain in Terracotta, a deep rust-red shade that feels just as right year-round as it does for the holidays. Pair it with a decorative tassel in cream, shown here hung on a wall-mounted lamp for an extra festive touch.

Handmade details

Christmas is the perfect season to surprise someone with handcrafted details – like a Christmas stocking sewn by hand in our atelier in Sweden. To reduce waste from our curtain production, we repurpose leftover fabric and give it new life in smaller products.

For 2025, our Christmas stocking is a limited edition piece, made in our classic woven linen – a textile that has been with us for ten years – combined with patterns from The Cottage Collection. Available in four colourways.

The Soft Roman blind, with its deep folds, evokes the feeling of snow gently falling outside the window. During the winter months, when every ray of light matters, a Roman shade in 100% linen is the perfect choice to maximise natural light and create a soft, ambient glow in the room.

Decorate with tassels

Tassels are a detail that can be used in countless ways, from small key tassels to full curtain tiebacks. The smaller styles can elevate almost any piece of furniture or interior accent, adding both texture and personality without overpowering the room.

Historically, key tassels were primarily used on keys, as decorative accessories for cabinets, drawers, and vitrines, and as a way to signal status and craftsmanship. Our decorative tassel is handmade and available in four colours.

A curtain tieback with a tassel detail is a perfect Christmas gift - a small present that delivers just as much function as form. The tieback is available in four colours.

Cozy season starts here

A perfect stocking filler is a pair of indoor slippers from the Gotain x Inabo Collaboration. The colour palette is inspired by The Cottage Collection, and the soft sheepskin insole keeps cold feet warm all winter long.

The slippers are made from high-quality suede and lined with soft sheepskin. Each pair is handcrafted in Portugal using premium leather from Spain. Available to purchase online and in-store.

Every space deserves a curtain

Every space can become a focal point. Play with colour and textiles to let even the pantry become part of the interior. Here you see made-to-measure drapery in Cottage Stripe Red, paired with a warm yellow wall colour.

A scented candle brightens even the darkest corner. This candle is poured into a ceramic vase with a classic silhouette that lives on long after the flame has gone out, perfect as a small flower vase or decorative detail in the home.

Each vase is handmade in small-scale production, making every piece unique, subtle variations in shape and surface are a natural part of the craft. The scented candle comes in two fragrances, Sandalwood and Mokara Orchid, and is finished with an elegant tassel.
