Scallop Valance Curved Finish

All Gotain curtains are sewn by hand in Sweden. The scallop edge valance is available in two different styles, with straight finish or curved finish. One model has curved ends, which is the classic valance look that frames the curtain installation and covers the sides. • The valance comes with a complete kit, ready for easy installation. The kit includes a track with velcro tape and ceiling brackets for ceiling mounting.

• Valance with straight finish: Is delivered in one piece up to 200cm long. For longer valances than 200cm, the track will be cut in two, a jointer is included to fix the two parts together. Valances up to 280 cm in width are made in one single piece of fabric. For widths exceeding 280 cm, the valance is made with a 280 cm center panel, with the remaining width divided and added to each side.
• Valance with curved finish: Is delivered in one piece up to 200cm long. For longer valances than 200cm, the track will be cut in two, a jointer is included to fix the two parts together. The curved ends are bent angles attached to the straight track using separate joining parts, one on the right side and one on the left side. The depth of the bent anges is 15cm. Valances up to 280 cm in width are made in one single piece of fabric. For widths exceeding 280 cm, the valance is made with a 280 cm center panel, with the remaining width divided and added to each side.
• Since all valances are handmade, the final width/length of the curtain may vary by +/- 1 cm from the ordered measurement.

Material
Our woven linen is made from high quality materials, 67% linen and 33% viscose for a heavy fall. The fabric is certified according to OEKO-TEX. All Gotain fabrics are woven in Spain and Turkey. Our linen curtains may sometimes vary slightly in shade and texture between rolls due to the natural characteristics of linen.

Care
To maintain color and quality, we recommend vacuuming your curtains regularly. Use a soft nozzle and pull gently along the fabric to remove dust and dirt that would otherwise press into the fabric over time. Use a steamer to minimize wrinkles.

In the case of dirt/stains, we always recommend treating the stain immediately. Clean with warm water on a white cloth - dab gently against the fabric and finish by steaming - let dry.

Curtain Valance Width:

The valance is 15 cm deep and is mounted on the ceiling (if you want to mount it on the wall, you need to contact us to order wall brackets).

The valance is installed in front of a standard curtain track with curtain lengths. To measure how wide the valance should be, take the outer width of your window frame and add +55 cm.

To measure how wide the curtain track should be, take the width of the valance and subtract -34 cm. The final look will be a valance that covers your window plus +15 cm on each side.

Curtain Valance Height:

The recommended height for a curtain valance is approximately 35 cm, which creates a balanced and stylish impression in most windows. If you need more coverage or want a more decorative feel, you can choose a taller model – we offer curtain valances up to 60 cm in height.

The Made-to-measure Scallop Valance Curved Finish is crafted from a blend of 67% linen and 33% viscose, woven in Spain for a soft, textured feel and a gentle drape. The loosely woven fabric is light-filtering, allowing daylight to pass through while providing a subtle frame for your window. The curved finish, with its scalloped edge and contrasting trim, adds a decorative detail that brings definition and character to the top of your curtain installation.

This valance is designed to conceal curtain tracks and create a smooth, continuous line above your curtains. The curved ends wrap around the sides, making it especially suitable for framing windows or creating a canopy effect above a bed. The range of colour combinations allows for easy coordination with curtain panels or Roman blinds, and the valance can be used to introduce a layered textile look in bedrooms, living rooms, or children’s spaces.

Each scallop valance is tailor-made for your home in our Swedish atelier, ensuring precise dimensions and careful finishing. The valance attaches to the included track with velcro tape for a minimal, seamless appearance. The kit comes complete with a ceiling-mounted track and brackets, and for wall mounting, additional brackets are available separately. For widths above 200 cm, the track is delivered in sections with a jointer for stability, while the fabric is constructed in panels to maintain a continuous look.

The linen blend is selected for durability and its ability to soften with use, maintaining its structure and colour over time. Regular vacuuming with a soft nozzle and occasional steaming will help preserve the fabric’s appearance. For stains, spot cleaning with warm water is recommended, with dry cleaning as an option for more persistent marks. The valance is designed for long-term use, offering a practical and decorative solution for bespoke window coverings or bed canopies.

We offer a flat shipping fee of £19 for all curtain panels, interior details and accessories.

For larger parcels such as roman blinds, tracks, and rods, the shipping fee is £59.
