The blackout function is woven into the fabric, providing effective light blocking without the need for a blackout lining. The result is a curtain with a full, luxurious drape that looks equally beautiful from both sides. Pair with a sheer curtain for a hotel feel. Each curtain is tailor-made to your exact measurements in Gotain’s Swedish atelier and finished with a pleating tape that fits both tracks and rods. Also available as a Roman blind.

Available curtains in core blackout
All curtains are sewn by hand in Sweden. Quality is important to us; that is why we include side seams and a bottom hem in the curtains for a heavier look. The bottom hem is sewn with a measurement of 10x10 cm.
The textile is specially developed by us at Gotain together with our factory in Spain. The blackout fiber is woven directly into the fabric, meaning the light-blocking effect is built into the curtain itself. As no blackout lining is added on the back, the curtain looks equally refined from both sides.The curtain is sewn with two pockets where you can place curtain weights at the bottom (one on each side). The weights help control the curtain's drape for a perfect look.
A curtain in single width is at its widest 80-90cm with curtain hooks, and at its narrowest about 35cm. A double-width curtain is at its widest 170-180cm with curtain hooks, and at its narrowest about 70cm. We weave our own fabrics in Europe, and the widths of the fabric rolls can sometimes vary slightly between deliveries.
The curtain features see-through pleating tape for a soft look with curtain hooks. The pleating tape can be used to hang the curtain on a track or rod. Additionally, there is a passage at the top of the curtain for pulling the rod through.

Material
Our blackout curtains are crafted from premium-quality materials, made from 100% polyester and finished with a fire-retardant treatment for enhanced safety and performance. The fabric is certified according to OEKO-TEX® standards. All Gotain fabrics are woven in Spain and Turkey.
In the industry, light control ranges from dim-out to full blackout. At Gotain, we use true blackout construction, providing the highest degree of light blockage for superior room darkening.
Care
To maintain color and quality, we recommend vacuuming your curtains regularly. Use a soft nozzle and gently run it along the fabric to remove dust and dirt that may otherwise penetrate the textile. Additionally, use a steamer to minimize creases that may develop over time.
Do not wash or tumble dry.
The blackout function is woven directly into the fabric, creating a refined drape without the need for additional lining. To maintain the integrity of the material, the curtain should not be machine washed or exposed to chemical cleaning agents.
In case of dirt/stain, we always recommend spot treatment of the stain. Clean with warm water on a white cloth - dab gently against the fabric and finish by steaming - then dry.

1. HOW TO MEASURE LENGTH
Ceiling-mounted curtain track - Measure from the ceiling to the floor and add +1 cm.
Curtain track on wall - Measure from the top of the curtain track down to the floor add add +1 cm.
Curtain rod on wall - Measure from the underside of the ring hanging on the rod and add +1cm.
Notes for linen curtains: Linen is a natural material and may change slightly over time. Woven linen curtains (including blackout) have a tendency to stretch a little once hung. For these, we recommend not adding the extra centimetre and instead measuring to the desired final length. Sheer linen curtains are more affected by humidity and seasonal changes, and can be planned with approximately +1 cm for a soft, elegant drape. If you’re unsure which option is best for your home, our curtain experts are always happy to offer personal advice.
2. HOW TO MEASURE WIDTH
Double width curtain - Extended: 180cm wide, gathered: 70cm wide.
Single width curtain - Extended: 90cm wide, gathered: 35cm wide.
The above recommendation is to achieve Gotain's signature look, which means generous flowing waves of fabric, and a small trail against the floor. The measurements apply to the most common hanging style, on a curtain track with two-finger hooks. Read more in Gotain's measuring guide.

All curtain tracks, rods and accessories are shipped within 1-3 working days. Custom length curtain tracks are tailor-made to your exact specifications, which means that we do not accept returns. Shipping cost
Within Europe: We offer a flat shipping fee of €15 for all curtain panels, interior details and accessories. For larger parcels such as roman blinds, tracks, and rods, the shipping fee is €49.
Exclusions: Please note that certain destinations carry higher shipping charges due to logistics and handling requirements. For Switzerland, Liechtenstein, San Marino, Malta and Serbia, the shipping fee is €39 for standard parcels and €80 for larger parcels. For Iceland, the shipping fee is €89 for standard parcels and €150 for larger parcels.
