Free curtain planning
It all started with a friendship and a shared passion for creativity. After many years of collaborating in the fashion industry, Hanna and Rami decided to create something of their own and founded HA/NA Productions. Today, they have built a creative team and a workspace that truly feels like their own. Their newly decorated office features Sakura Collection, where the colour combinations and Sakura pattern bring the rooms together.
Take us back to the beginning – how did the idea for HA/NA Productions come about, and how did your journey together begin?
HA/NA Productions is a production company with a strong focus on content, which we founded together about five years ago. We work on everything from ideas and creative concepts to photography, film, productions, casting, location scouting and post-production.
We met about 15 years ago when we were both working in the fashion industry, although in different areas. We started collaborating on a few projects and quickly realised that we worked really well together, both professionally and personally. After about ten years of working on projects together, and with a close friendship that had grown along the way, we started talking about creating something of our own. That's how HA/NA Productions came to life.
Five years later, we now have a team of six people. It's incredibly exciting to see how both our team and our projects have grown and developed.
Which of you is more of a morning person?
Hanna is probably more of a morning person overall, although Rami can sometimes be at his most energetic when we have a really early call time for a shoot.
Who is more spontaneous, and who likes to plan?
We're both pretty spontaneous and generally not that great at planning, which is why we leave that to our project manager Hedda. But if we had to choose, Hanna is probably the one who enjoys planning the most.
If you had to describe your shared style in three words, what would they be?
Jeans, vintage and a whole lot of different jackets.
What would the other person say is your best quality?
Hanna: I'd say Rami's absolute best quality is how caring he is. He always notices what other people need and is quick to drop everything to help them out.
Rami: Hanna's best quality is how incredibly generous she is, especially when it comes to her dedication and the way she always makes time for the people around her.
What's the best thing about working together?
Since we're best friends, getting to work together is a real luxury in itself. We're both good at reminding each other to have fun and not take things too seriously, no matter how stressful things get. That might be one of the reasons we've stuck together year after year.
What does a typical working day look like for you?
Our days rarely look the same and vary a lot depending on the projects we're working on. When we're not out on a production, our days often consist of meetings with our internal team, client meetings, plenty of planning and post-production work. Sometimes we also use the office as a studio for shoots or to host different types of events. That's exactly what we love about it – no two days are ever quite the same. We also do most of our productions abroad, so we spend quite a lot of days travelling throughout the year.
Where do you find inspiration for your creative work?
We always try to find inspiration in different creative fields, sometimes even outside the areas we work in ourselves. For example, when planning a fashion shoot, we might draw just as much inspiration from film, architecture or art as from fashion itself. We think it's important to look beyond what's familiar and find new perspectives, so we can create something original rather than repeat what's already been done. We also find a lot of inspiration through travelling. All the new impressions and experiences we gain on our trips spark ideas that we then bring into our work.
You've recently decorated your new office – tell us about the process! What kind of atmosphere did you want to create?
We wanted to create an office that feels like a natural extension of our creative work and reflects who we are. We also wanted to give our clients a sense of our world and how we approach what we create. Warmth and personality are important to us, both in our work and in the spaces we spend time in. That's why we wanted the office to reflect that same feeling. We're also drawn to contrasts between new and vintage, which is why we've tried to source furniture with a bit more character and patina to mix with the newer elements we have in the office.
You've chosen to decorate with curtains from Sakura Collection. How do you feel the curtains contribute to the atmosphere and overall look of the rooms?
Textiles make such a big difference to a room. They create a more cosy and inviting atmosphere and help bring the entire interior together. We were particularly drawn to the quality of Sakura Collection, with fabrics that have a beautiful weight to them and colours that feel both elegant and thoughtfully chosen. As soon as the curtains were in place, we immediately noticed the difference they made. They add warmth and really brought the whole look of the rooms together.
One of our favourites from the collection is the combination of Plum Roman blinds and Dove Blue curtain panels in our large conference room. We really love how the two colours work together, complementing each other beautifully and creating a calm and harmonious atmosphere while still adding character to the room.
