Quality is important to us, which is why we sew our roman blind curtains with battens (metal sticks) distributed along the length of the curtain for maximum stability. This helps the curtain to get even folds when it is pulled up or down.
- The roman blind is delivered with a complete kit of rail and brackets for easy installation.
- Roman Blinds wider than 200cm are delivered and mounted using a cassette, rather than a rail, for added stability.
- Roman blinds with a rail are operated with a cord. Roman blinds with a cassette are operated with a chrome ball chain.
- Can be mounted in both wall and ceiling.
- As all roman blind curtains are sewn by hand, the final width/length of the curtain can differ by 1-2 cm +/- from the ordered dimensions.
- When the roman blind is fully raised, it takes up approximately 25–30 cm. If you want it to cover a smaller portion of your window, we recommend mounting it above the window frame.
- The depth of the Roman shade is approximately 4.5 cm. This applies to both Roman shades with a cassette and Roman shades on a track, when installed using the included 3 cm brackets.
Material
Our sheer linen is of highest quality, crafted from 100% linen sourced from France. The yarn on the loom spools is used to weave the fabric and is thinner in some parts and thicker in others. This gives the linen fabric an organic character. The fabric is certified according to OEKO-TEX. All Gotain fabrics are woven in Spain and Turkey. Due to the characteristics of linen, our linen curtains may sometimes vary slightly in shade and texture between rolls.
Care
To maintain color and quality, we recommend vacuuming your curtains regularly. Use a soft nozzle and gently run it along the fabric to remove dust and dirt that may otherwise penetrate the textile. Additionally, use a steamer to minimize creases that may develop over time.
- In the event of dirt or staining, we always recommend spot treatment.
- Clean with hot water on a white cloth—gently dab the fabric and finish with steaming—then allow to dry.
- For more substantial staining or dirt, we advise consulting a dry cleaner. Always ensure that your local dry cleaner has the appropriate expertise and tools to manage your stain.
- Gotain does not take responsibility for incorrect handling by a dry cleaner.
- Shrinkage: 2-5%
Maximize the impact of your window by installing your roman blind 15 cm above the window and covering the full width, including the window trim.
When the roman blind is fully raised, the length is approx. 30 cm.
HOW TO MEASURE LENGTH:
Measure from the top of the window frame down to the windowsill and add +15 cm.
For Blackout Roman Blind with Scalloped Edge: Please note that the blackout lining on the Roman blind with a scallop hem ends above the wave. The bottom 26 cm of the blind are therefore not blackout.
HOW TO MEASURE WIDTH:
Measure the width of your window including the window frame.
For blackout roman blinds: For the best blackout effect, we recommend adding extra width so the blind extends beyond the sides of the window. More overlap helps block incoming light.
NICHE MOUNTING:
If you are installing your Roman blind inside a window recess, it is especially important that the measurements are taken accurately. Measure exactly where the blind will be positioned, as the width may vary at different points within the recess. As all Roman blinds are handmade, the final width/length may vary by +/- 1–2 cm from the ordered measurements. To ensure the blind fits properly, we therefore recommend deducting 2 cm from the total width. Please note that this may result in small gaps at the sides.Measure the length from the top of the recess down to the window sill. If your window opens inward, we recommend mounting the Roman blind to the ceiling or on the wall instead.
