How to measure

How to measure: Curtain Valances

Most of Gotain's valances are available in two different styles, with straight finish or curved finish. One model has curved ends, which is the classic valance look that frames the curtain installation and covers the sides. The look that we call “straight finish” leaves the sides open, suitable for wall-to-wall installation.

How to measure width for a curved valance

The valance is installed in front of a normal curtain track with long panels. To measure the width of the valance, take the outer width of your window frame and add 55 cm.

To measure how wide the curtain track should be, take the width of the valance and deduct 25 cm. The final look will then be a valance that covers your window plus 15 cm on each side.

For hanging panels in single width.

How to measure width for a straight valance

Measure the full width of the wall where the valance will be installed, this will be the total width of the valance.

Curtain valance height

The maximum height for our curtain valances is 60 cm.
